A man was killed when he was hit by a car while walking his bicycle in East Patchogue Friday, police say.

They say Arturo Peralta, 77, was struck along Montauk Highway near Scherger Avenue when he was struck at around 4:30 p.m.

The 28-year-old driver stayed on the scene and was not injured. Peralta was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suffolk County detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-854-8552.
