A man is set to face a judge Thursday after police say he scammed two women out of $167,000.
Nassau police say Richard Yasnis called a woman in July and claimed to be a licensed investment advisor for Cahill Financial Group.
Police say he got the 53-year-old disabled woman to give him $79,000, which was given to her by the 9/11 victim’s compensation fund.
He also got $88,000 from a 77-year-old woman, according to authorities. That woman cashed her deceased husband’s life insurance policy.
Authorities say both women were led to believe their money was being invested in real estate stocks.
