A 15-year-old Sachem North High School night student is accused of raping a 14-year-old classmate inside the school Thursday night.

Investigators say the suspect approached the victim during a break and asked her to take a walk with him. They say he then assaulted her. Other students describe the victim as a fun-loving teen trying to get her grades up by attending night school, while the alleged attacker has been called a troublemaker who was kicked out of regular school. Police are investigating if the suspect is a gang member.

The identities of the both teens are being withheld because of their age, as are the specific charges filed.
