The Town of Islip Hazmat Team responded to a fuel spill caused by a crash Thursday on Sunrise Highway in West Islip, police say.
They say the driver of a truck was cut off by another vehicle, crashed into the median and jackknifed between exits 41 and 40.
The driver suffered a minor hand injury, according to police.
Officials say Sunrise Highway eastbound was temporarily closed at Exit 40 and one lane was closed westbound between exits 41 and 40 due to debris in the roadway. They have since reopened.
