Police say a woman has been arrested for driving drunk and hitting a pedestrian holding a child in Elmont.
The incident happened on Seville Street in Elmont around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Police found a 31-year-old woman on the ground next to the car, while holding her 2-year-old son.
Both the mom and son were taken to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
Police have charged the 28-year-old driver, Kiran Choudhry, with DWI under Leandra's Law.
Choudhry is accused of driving drunk with a 5-year-old in the car.
Choudhry will face a judge later today.
