Suffolk detectives say they found drugs along with hundreds of deer hides and frozen bird carcasses at a home in Bohemia.
Police say the discovery was made while executing a search warrant on Dec. 2 as part of a narcotics investigation. They say $40,000 worth of marijuana and cocaine were seized.
Authorities say they also found 300 white-tail deer hides, animal carcasses and a freezer full of water fowl. They also discovered live snapping turtles and two large vats of muddy water.
Police arrested 48-year-old James Bizzaro, who faces a slew of charges.
The Department of Environmental Conservation also cited Bizzaro with unlawful possession of over 100 untagged animal carcasses, which is a violation of state and federal law.
Police say Bizzaro also had an illegal tap on his electric meter. Two other tenants of the home on Sycamore Avenue were also charged with drug and weapons possession, and loitering.
