A driver was killed early Wednesday morning in a fiery crash in Ronkonkoma.

Police say the driver of a Jeep hit a curb and rocks in front of a house, then slammed into multiple trees and a fire hydrant. They say the vehicle then burst into flames.

The crash occurred on Edgewood Avenue near Express Drive North at around 3:20 a.m.

The unidentified driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not immediately clear what made the driver lose control.
