Sources tell News 12 Long Island that detectives were searching for evidence from a 28-year-old missing persons case. They say 15-year-old Brenda Crowley went missing in 1980. According to Crowley?s sister, the teen was splitting her time between the East Islip home and a Staten Island home in 1979.
Investigators did find one bone in their search, however, it is unclear if it is a human bone.
The NYPD and Suffolk County detectives will not comment on the case.
