Police say a Glen Head soccer coach was arrested for threatening to beat a player's father with a baseball bat in an email.
Robert Riccuiti allegedly threatened the father of a 6-year-old player on his team after the parent questioned the coach via email about his son's playing time and his overall coaching philosophy. Police say Riccuiti then sent the threatening email in response.
Joe Livoti, of Glen Head, says he has coached Little League baseball with Riccuiti and was surprised by his arrest on Friday. He says that while some parents are at times too intense, Riccuiti never showed any signs of aggression toward the kids or their parents.
Riccuiti was arraigned Saturday on harassment charges.
Police say Riccuiti works as a principal at a high school in Yonkers, Westchester County.
