Police say a 23-year-old man was found stabbed to death outside of a sports bar in Central Islip early this morning.

Investigators say Jose Amadeo-Carbajao Alverado, of Bay Shore, was found lying in the parking lot of El Tenampa Restaurant and Sports Bar at around 2:15 a.m. He had been fatally stabbed in the chest.

Detectives say it appears the victim may have been involved in a dispute inside the bar on Islip Avenue. When he exited the bar, he was confronted by a group of men in the parking lot, they say.

Police say there is no indication of gang involvement in the deadly stabbing at this time.
