Police say they've arrested a Bay Shore man who pretended to run a tree-removal service and scammed at least six victims out of hundreds of dollars each.
They say Gary Descisciolo, 54, posed as an employee of Leon's Tree Service and collected cash deposits for tree-trimming services he never provided.
According to Suffolk police, Descisciolo was a former employee of the tree service who never returned the company van.
He faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and six counts of petit larceny.
Police say additional charges are pending, and anyone who may have been a victim should call 631-852-COPS to file a police report.
