Police say two people were shot and killed Monday night in Freeport.

Authorities say the victims were gunned down near the intersection of Jesse Street and Webber Field Avenue just before 9 p.m. Police have two people in custody, though they did not say if they will continue to look for more suspects.

A woman who lives in the neighborhood says she heard about eight or nine gunshots before police arrived at the scene.

Police are not currently releasing any information about the victims.
