Two Queens men impersonated Nassau County employees and used a fraudulent account to purchase 22 laptops, Nassau police say.
Manny A. Alvarez Marriaga, 24, and Kevin A. Alvarez, 25, were charged with attempted grand larceny and conspiracy.
Detectives say they placed an order to purchase Hewlett Packard notebooks valued at nearly $44,000 from Ray-Black – a county vendor for office supplies.
Marriaga and Alvarez were located in Garden City and placed into custody.
