Two men have died following an accident on the Long Island Expressway early Monday morning, police say.
Police say a box truck was traveling eastbound on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 36 in North Hills when it left the road and struck the overpass for Shelter Rock Road around 5 a.m.

The driver and the only passenger in the box truck were pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers were both identified as male.
Police say the Boar's Head truck was the only one involved in the crash.
Eastbound lanes from New Hyde Park Road to Searingtown Road were closed for hours. All eastbound lanes have since reopened.
Tow trucks spent part of the morning moving the truck from the overpass and even removing the meat from the back of it.
Footage from Chopper 12 showed the lengthy backup caused by the incident on the eastbound side of the LIE.
