A crash Saturday night in Riverhead left one man dead and another injured, according to police.

Authorities say a car owned by Riverhead Town Taxi was traveling east on County Road 58 when it hit a pedestrian just before midnight.

The pedestrian, identified as 58-year-old Jamie Martin Santos, was hospitalized and pronounced dead.

A passenger from the taxi was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police say no charges have been filed yet and an investigation is ongoing.
