Police say one person has died following a single-car crash on the Southern State Parkway this morning.
According to police, John Palumbo, 54, of Center Moriches, died after driving into woods and striking a tree between exits 44 and 43A near Islip Terrace.
The incident happened in the westbound lanes around 6:45 a.m.
Police say at this point there was no criminality involved.
