Police say a driver has been taken into custody for suspicion of DWI after a two-car crash in West Hempstead.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Hempstead Turnpike.
Police say one of the cars hit a fire hydrant causing water to spill into the street.
Police say one man is in custody at the hospital.
Police believe the man was drinking before the crash.
