A Long Island star quarterback is on his way to playing in the Big House.
Plainedge quarterback Dan Villari announced his commitment to play at the University of Michigan Wednesday.
In a tweet announcing his decision to play in Ann Arbor for coach Jim Harbaugh, Villari said, "I'd like to thank my family, my coaches and everybody who as helped me through this long and stressful process. I'd also like to thank the Plainedge community for showing nothing but love and support to me and my family throughout this process and throughout my career."
Villari chose the storied program over Kent State, Pittsburgh and UMass.
Villari is fresh off a Long Island championship and a Thorp Award win as Nassau County's best player. He racked up more than 2,800 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2019.
In his 24 starts at Plainedge, Villari lost just one time. He will be the fourth Long Island player in the Big Ten next season.
