The Melville charity PinkTie Delivers marked a milestone in helping other charities during the pandemic.
The nonprofit celebrated a year of food and financial donations by making more than 100 deliveries to over 45 food banks.
Organizers say they pivoted their work when the pandemic hit.
So far, the organization has donated about $112,000 and several tons of food to those in need.
"Now that we know there is a food insecurity problem on Long Island, which will continue past COVID, we're going to continue this program," says Mike Cave, co-founder of PinkTie Charities.
Pink Tie says it has helped a range of charities across the island since 2012.
