PETA sends letter to Brentwood High School following former student’s animal cruelty charge

The Suffolk SPCA says the teen was seen on video hitting a cat with a metal bar.

PETA responded to Brentwood High School Wednesday after a former student was charged with animal cruelty.
The Suffolk SPCA says the teen was seen on video hitting a cat with a metal bar.
PETA says it is sending materials to Brentwood that can help teachers speak to students about preventing violence. The organization is also offering books on how to show compassion to animals.
There is no word yet on if the school district will accept the offer.
