With Thanksgiving less than a week away, the Albanian American Open Hand Association Inc. gave back to the community with a turkey giveaway Sunday.

The Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association came ready with 110 turkeys donated by Key Foods. Nearly 120 people began lining up at the food pantry from as early as 6 a.m. Sunday. Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernandez says events like these are particularly important this year.
