Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by vehicle Sunday in Hempstead
Police say a 60-year-old man sustained critical injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Hempstead on Sunday.
The victim was crossing Peninsula Boulevard near the intersection of South Franklin Street when police say he was hit by a car around 9:15 a.m.
The 56-year-old driver was traveling southbound on South Franklin when he apparently tried to make a left turn at the intersection.
The victim sustained head trauma, according to authorities. He was taken to a hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.
