A World War II veteran from Suffolk County posthumously received seven medals for his service in the United States Navy.
Rep. Steve Israel (D - Huntington) presented the widow of Pasquale Joseph Papa the medals Thursday in East Northport.
Papa fought in the Normandy invasion and went without the commendations for decades.
His medals included the Purple Heart and the WWII Victory Medal.
