Parts of Bethpage State Park have been turned into a construction zone to meet the energy needs of Long Islanders.Bulldozers are ripping up long strips of the park so the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) can lay the Neptune power cable underground. LIPA promises park goers it's going to rehab the area once its work is completed. Still, many say the construction site is an eyesore. The Neptune cable is expected to bring electricity from New Jersey and other states sometime next year.
