Parents are claiming officials at the Bronx Academy of Health Careers waited too long to call an ambulance Monday after three students were attacked by a gang at the school.
The injured students say the gang of girls, the Devils Angels, jumped them in gym class. The students? parents say they weren?t immediately notified of the incident. They add the school didn?t call an ambulance until after they arrived to pick up their children.
The Department of Education says when the school nurse asked the students if they wanted an ambulance, they refused. Education officials claim they offered to have the three students transferred to another school as a safety precaution. Meanwhile, the Department of Education is investigating the incident. Officials say suspensions are pending for the nine students involved in the attack.
