Parade held at Ward Melville HS for seniors

Many high schools across Long Island are getting creative in ways to shout out the seniors who lost out on their final year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many high schools across Long Island are getting creative in ways to shout out the seniors who lost out on their final year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The athletic fields at Ward Melville High School were very quiet this season, but the Patriots decided to change that.
A first-of-its-kind parade was held for all the Ward Melville seniors who missed out on their final year.
Coaches had a chance to reconnect with their senior athletes around the athletic fields - with parents in attendance and car horns blaring,
The seniors took about three laps around the school, starting at the athletic fields and then ending up in front of the school where the Stony Brook and Setauket fire departments were there to greet them.
