Gearing up for the 145 annual Belmont Stakes isn't just for the horses. Ladies, and some gentlemen, have to prepare their fashion headwear.
Christine A. Moore, of Christine A. Moore Millinery, was in the News 12 studios today to show us some of the fancy hats and headbands that will be big hits at the track.
Moore says this season's trends are medium brims and bigger trims. She adds that the bigger brimmed hats are also still in style. Not a hat person? Moore suggests wearing a headband with bows, ribbons and trim.
Not sure how to wear them? Moore says the lowest part of the brim should be near the eyebrows.
Moore, who has provided hats for some royals, will be at the Annual Belmont Trunk Show at the Garden City Hotel today from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. She will also be at the Belmont track June 6, 7 and 8 outside the Turf Club entrance for any last-minute hat needs.
