A local flower shop is doing its part to help those in Ukraine.
Flowers have always had symbolic meaning through the centuries and sunflowers are the Ukrainian national flower.
“I figured if there was one way to help it was to raise money,” said Dana Baron, of Baron Floral Designs.
Baron says she puts bouquets outside her store when she is not there, and people just come and take them on the honor system and put money in her mail slot or electronically pay her.
“I’m donating all the proceeds. We’ve been donating to World Central Kitchen, which is a great organization there supplying food for people in need, especially the refugees right now,” says Baron.
Baron says they have sold 75 bouquets or more, and has donated almost $400 dollars already. Sh plans on keeping it going.
