With temperatures dropping overnight, Monday's wet weather conditions are sure to create an icy mess for Tuesday's morning commute.

Officials are warning that roads and sidewalks will be slick. Untreated surfaces will be especially dangerous.

Crews across Nassau and Suffolk counties are working overnight to treat roadways for icy conditions.

Officials are urging drivers to plan ahead for their morning commutes. They say drivers should make sure tires are properly inflated, gas tanks are at least half full and to avoid using cruise control when driving on any slippery surface.

Tuesday is expected to be windy and bitterly cold with highs between 10 and 15 degrees.
