Fire officials say five people were displaced after their home went up in flames in Uniondale Sunday afternoon.

They say none of them were inside the home on Uniondale Avenue when the fire broke out around 2 p.m.

Four dogs were rescued from the inside of the home.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.

The Red Cross was helping the displaced residents as of Sunday evening.
