Officials: Queens man arrested for armed robbery in Cedarhurst

They say Reggie Rivas, 26, went into the Sunoco gas station on Rockaway Turnpike just after 12 a.m. on Friday and pointed a gun at an employee and demanded cash. Rivas was handed an unknown amount of money before telling the victim to lay on the floor and then running out.

Official say a Queens has been arrested for an alleged armed robbery in Cedarhurst.
They say Reggie Rivas, 26, went into the Sunoco gas station on Rockaway Turnpike just after 12 a.m. on Friday and pointed a gun at an employee and demanded cash. Rivas was handed an unknown amount of money before telling the victim to lay on the floor and then running out.
Police found Rivas in Inwood, and when they first tried to arrest him, he became combative and injured an officer. The officer had to be taken to the hospital with a leg injury.
Following Rivas’ arrest, further investigation found that he was also responsible for robbing another Sunoco station earlier this month.
Rivas faces multiple robbery and weapons charges.
