News 12 has learned MS-13 chapters in El Salvador identify themselves by Nassau and Suffolk names.

Long Island law enforcement officials say gang members in El Salvador call their cliques names like Brentwood and Freeport.

The Long Island investigators received the information on a recent trip to the Central American country, where most MS-13 members come from.

The police also believe MS-13 meticulously plans their murders to avoid surveillance cameras.
