Officials: Motorcyclist dies after collision with flatbed truck

A motorcyclist was pronounced dead Sunday morning after colliding into a flatbed truck in Westbury, officials say.
Police say the 20-year-old man, Nicholas Cartier, of East Farmingdale, was traveling on Union Avenue, when he ran through a red light and collided into the truck heading southbound on Grand Boulevard.
Cartier was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 51-year-old driver of the flatbed truck was not injured.
