Officials eye plan to put cameras on LIRR trains

Officials say Long Island Rail Road trains could soon be equipped with cameras.

The Federal Railroad Administration is calling for video cameras to be installed on all trains across the country.

The move comes after a train derailed in the Bronx last month.

The cameras would be used to monitor engineers and record any unsafe behavior.

A proposal for the new plan is expected to be introduced sometime this year.
