A New Cassel teenager is facing charges after allegedly resisting arrest and hurting an officer.

Police were called to Martin “Bunky” Reid Park near Urban Avenue around 5 p.m. Thursday for a person with a weapon.

When an officer arrived, they say Jarbar Henfield attempted to flee and resisted arrest.

Henfield allegedly had a box cutter with him.

One officer sustained a head injury during the struggle but is expected to be OK.
