An off-duty Nassau detective and a neighbor are being credited with saving a man from his burning home in Williston Park.
Police say the pair saw flames shooting out from the house on Mineola Boulevard Sunday morning.
News 12 is told that the two ran inside the house and rescued the 59-year-old homeowner. He was treated for smoke inhalation.
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries responding to the scene.
Investigators are searching for what may have sparked the blaze, but they do not believe it was suspicious.
