A high school senior from Oceanside has achieved the rare honor of being accepted to three of the country's top military academies.
Brittany Dowling has completed her second year at Nassau BOCES as a student in the half-day Barry Tech Aviation Operations Program. She attends Oceanside High School five mornings a week.
Dowling has been accepted to the United States Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and the Coast Guard Academy.
She says she wants to be a Naval aviator because many of her family members were in the Navy. Dowling will begin classes at the Naval Academy on July 1.
