NYPD: Man fatally shot by police after drawing weapon outside 111th Precinct in Bayside

Police say a79-year-old man got out of his car and walked up to the building holding a gun.

A 79-year-old man armed with a gun was shot and killed by police just over the Nassau County border in Queens, authorities say.
Police say the man exited his car and walked up to the 111th Precinct in Bayside while holding the gun.
News 12 has been told the man pointed the gun at an officer.
Police say officers gave numerous verbal commands to put the gun down but that the man did not comply. Four officers then fired at him.
Police say the gun was recovered at the scene.
The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital where he died.
