Drivers will want to pull over before checking their phones as the NYPD launches into a two-day crackdown on distracted driving.
Officers are on high alert for anyone using their cellphones behind the wheel, with a major focus being on pedestrian safety.
Police say they're out in full force monitoring intersections around all five boroughs for drivers who aren't focused on the road, and especially those who fail to yield to those on foot.
The first day of the 24-hour enforcement initiative began at midnight. The second day kicks off this Friday at midnight.
