Police are investigating a stabbing that left a 34-year-old man dead in Kingsbridge Heights.
According to the NYPD, first responders arrived at 2448 University Ave. just before 2 p.m. and discovered the victim with a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Many in the building say they knew the victim as a good person who never sought out trouble. News 12 witnessed what neighbors say is the victim's mother being walked out of the building and into an ambulance.
"He was a good kid, he went to work and came home from work, hunt out in front of the building," said someone who claimed to be a friend of the victim. "I guess this is what happens when you get in to a fight these days... it's so unfortunate because now the mother has to worry about burying a son."
Loved ones and family members confirmed that the victim is 34-year-old Christian Torres, pictured below.
No arrests have been made at this time.
