A sign outside the Shelter Rock Jewish Center in Searingtown was vandalized by red paint more than week ago, and Nassau County police are still searching for whomever is responsible.

The sign, supporting Israel and efforts to bring home hostages, had only been up days when police say someone threw red paint on it before running off.

Rabbi Claudio Kupchik was in his first weekend with the synagogue. He says it was painful to see it happen, but that their congregation will respond by coming together.

They say they plan to put up a new sign, and are looking into adding security cameras to the front of their property.
