Tenants at a Nostrand Avenue apartment building in Brooklyn say they’ve been without water since last Wednesday, forcing them to use buckets for basic needs.
A notice posted in the building’s lobby cites an emergency water shut-off due to a water line leak that wasn’t repaired. According to city records, at least five complaints about the lack of water have been filed through 311.
“This feels degrading,” one tenant said.
Next door, workers at The Meat Place say they’ve been dealing with the same issue for weeks. They’ve also filed complaints with 311 but have not seen any resolution.
News 12's attempts to reach the building’s owner were unsuccessful. A spokesperson for the city's Housing Preservation and Development said they would provide information soon but has not responded yet.
