A Northport resident reported seeing a waterspout move across Northport Harbor Monday night as thunderstorms swept Long Island.
The fast-moving storms left downed trees in its wake. Matt Caliman says he?s seen storm destruction in Northport for years, but that he?d never seen anything like what he saw Monday.
No injuries were reported in the area, though police checked house boats for damage.
Rains were expected to move out quickly, but more rain is possible for Tuesday.
