Some lucky winners of the New York State Lottery were announced today at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the lottery's regional office in Plainview.

Dr. Alan Strobel and his wife Tammy shared in the newest $16.3 million cumulative winnings. Dr. Strobel decided to gift his wife with his $6.2 million from the Lotto Jackpot drawn on Nov. 6. She'll have $2.5 million directly deposited into her bank account.

After 35 years of marriage and playing the lottery, Hilton and Alicia Cancel won $1 million in the Mega Millions second prize drawn on Nov. 12. They will each take home a lump sum of $330,000.

To one couple, winning the lottery means wedding bells. Andrew Roland plans to marry Dawn Morgan after winning $1 million from a scratch-off. Roland bought his lucky ticket at a gas station after helping his mother fix a flat tire.

The New York State Lottery is North America's largest and most profitable lottery.
