A seal pup returned to the ocean on the East End Thursday evening.

The seal named Octopus was admitted to the New York Marine Rescue Center in Riverhead in May.

Octopus was found entangled in crab pot netting in Babylon and was treated for cuts on her neck.

Octopus is fully recovered and was released at Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays.
