There's a new scene coming to Coney Island, and it's behind the camera.

Coney Island U.S.A. is starting a film school with classes beginning on Jan. 25.

Film lovers will have the chance to explore their passion being taught by filmmaker Dylan Mars Greenberg.

“Your imagination is really the limit when it comes to film. I think that's what's so cool is that it's taking your dreams and it's making them a sort of reality," said Greenberg.

The class goes from Jan. 25 to mid-March and will be held throughout Coney Island's amusement district and inside the walls of Coney Island U.S.A.'s iconic headquarters. Performers at the organization like 'Alaska Lost Boy' say it's a great location for aspiring artists to learn while being inspired.

“It’s such a popular tourist destination. Just because that's part of our mission is to support local artists," she said.

Students will learn things like editing and filming techniques. By the end of the class students will shoot a film on their iPhones and edit using a laptop.

“Anyone can really make a movie if you've ever thought about it. It's not something that you have to dismiss as a pipe dream. It's something that's accessible to pretty much anyone with the most basic technology at their disposal," said Greenberg.

Organizers say anyone as old as 12 years old or 112 is welcome and no experience is required.

“This is actually a great class for people who have no film experience because we're learning about the very basic building blocks of how to make a movie. You don't need to know all the rules, you don't need to know all the technical stuff. You can make a movie by just, you know, going out there and you just need to know a few very basic things," said Greenberg.

Enrollment for fifteen students is open now and ends Jan. 20. For more information, you can head to Coney Island U.S.A.'s website.
