Over 1,400 people have signed a new petition to call for an increase in service on the Long Island Rail Road's Oyster Bay line.
Commuters want the LIRR to reduce the time it takes to get Oyster Bay to Penn Station.
They also want an addition rush hour train with direct access to the city and an express train.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority told News 12 that the new schedules that take effect Monday will result in a 41% increase in service and that the LIRR will review, monitor and assess ridership patterns with customer feedback and consider adjustments to the schedule where appropriate.
