New regulations on parking are wreaking havoc for some teachers in Nassau County.
At the start of this school year, faculty members of the Stewart Manor Elementary School will have to pay to park on the residential street in front of the school.
The village of Stewart Manor made the decision, which will cost each employee $50 a month for a parking permit.
In response, the district has transformed the school's blacktop lot into a parking area for teachers so they can avoid the fee. This means children will no longer be able to play sports there during recess.
The kids are upset and believe they should not be the ones affected by the village's decision.
