A new facility that offers housing and classrooms for children with autism and other disabilities has opened its doors.
The residential housing at the Developmental Disabilities Institute's campus in Huntington will house 24 children in a home-like setting.
The new facility allows parents to stay close to their children, rather than send them to an out-of-state complex.
DDI says it hopes to open up more residential facilities with continued help from state and local officials.
