The advisory against recreational activities at the New Croton Reservoir has now ended, but there are still some restrictions in place.
The New York State Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) advised the Village of Croton-on-Hudson that the drawdown of water levels that began on Sept. 6 has now ended.
While sites like the Echo Canoe Launch are set to reopen today, the pathway at the top/crest of the New Croton Dam will be closed to pedestrians and bicycles from Monday, Sept. 26 until Wednesday, Oct. 5 to allow for routine inspections.
While water levels will be lower than they were during the past few weeks, people are advised that higher-than-normal releases will continue until inspections are complete.
